Threats to the harpy eagle

The deforestation of rainforests is a major threat to the existence of harpy eagles. They are becoming rare animals in Latin America due to this. A female harpy eagle gives birth to a new offspring just after every two years. So a small drop in the number of species can cause difficulty in recovery. Losing any single animal to mother nature is a great loss. It becomes a huge problem for a certain part of the ecosystem. It is relevant to the harpy eagle too. They hunt the cappuccino monkeys and help to balance the ecosystem. The extinction of harpy monkeys would cause the extinction of some birds as capuchin monkeys used to eat the eggs of birds.
